GoogleTalk Translation

Google now allow you to translate from and to dozen of languages using any XMPP client (including GTalk of course).

Add [src language]2[dest language]

to your GTalk contacts and bingo — you’ve got your personal machine interpreter.
For example will translate from English to Chinese.

The quality of translation looks pretty good in simple tests (I tried English to Italy).

The following language pairs are supported:
ar2en, bg2en, de2en, de2fr, el2en, en2ar, en2de, en2el, en2es, en2fr, en2it, en2ja, en2ko, en2nl, en2ru, en2zh, es2en, fi2en, fr2de, fr2en, hi2en, hr2en, it2en, ja2en, ko2en, nl2en, ru2en, uk2en, ur2en, zh2en.

Nice work Google.......

FOSS-ed for Windows...

I was also among the participants for the "FOSS-ed for Windows" seminar which was held from 26th to 28th. It was so much interesting and I learnt so much about *FOSS world and FOSS for Windows..
The keynote by Brian Behlendorf(A co-founder of Apache Web Server) about FOSS was much informative. The other key speakers @ the seminar were Suchetha Wijenayake, Buddhika Siddhisena, Mifan Careem and Anuradha Ratnaweera. They all did their best in there sessions..
I would be much pleased to thank the organizing committee for their immense dedication for organizing this even in a much successful way..

Passed the 'SCJP' exam.....

Finally after 8 months of hardwork and dedication, I got through from the SCJP exam with good results.

= Sun Certified JAVA Programmer.

This is a internationally recognized certification which is awarded by Sun MicroSystems, Inc, USA (the JAVA creators).

I studyed @ the Institute of Java Technological Studies(IJTS) in Thummulla under the guidance of Sir Rajitha.

SCJP certification ensures that I have the necessary skills to efficiently meet the challenges of programming in JAVA.

now I think I had climbed some steps towards my ambition which is to be a highly talented Software Engineer.

Party @ my home..

I threw a little party for my beloved friends @ APIIT on 11th Feb. 2007.
The guests were Madusha, Pubudu, Danushka, Chathura, Yuwanthi & Thashila.
First we played some interesting games in our home and sang songs while Madusha played the guitar .
Then we went to the nearby beach which is about 50m from my house to play cricket.. We had a great time there.
After that we came back to have lunch after a long time being in the beach. At home my mother had prepared a special lunch with about 5 or 6 deserts which everybody enjoyed.
